SEO that brings you customers, not just traffic
Rankings are a means, not the point. We build the technical foundation, the pages, and the local signals that put your business in front of people already looking to buy — on Google, and increasingly inside ChatGPT and Perplexity answers.
Most small-business SEO is sold by the month and measured by nothing
The common experience is a monthly invoice, a PDF of rankings for terms nobody searches, and no change in the phone ringing. That happens because the work is priced as a subscription rather than scoped as a project, so there is no defined finish line and no obligation to reach one. We would rather tell you which of these is actually wrong with your site and fix that.
- You rank for your own business name and almost nothing else
- Competitors with worse work outrank you because their pages answer the question and yours describes the company
- Your site is slow on a phone, which is where most local searches happen
- Google Business Profile is unclaimed, half-filled, or has the wrong hours
- AI assistants recommend three other agencies when someone asks for your category
What the work actually is
Four things move the needle for a local business. We do them in the order that pays back fastest.
Technical foundation
Crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, mobile rendering, canonical and redirect hygiene, XML sitemap, and structured data. If Google cannot read and rank the page, nothing else you do matters.
Local SEO
Google Business Profile claimed, categorised and filled out properly; consistent name, address and phone everywhere it appears; location pages that are genuinely about the place rather than the same paragraph with the town swapped.
Pages that answer the question
One page per thing you sell, written to answer what the buyer actually types — what it includes, what it costs, who it is for. A single page trying to cover six services ranks for none of them.
AI answer visibility
ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI answers pull from structured, clearly-written pages. We mark up your business so machines can resolve what you are, where you operate, and what you sell — not infer it from prose.
Earned links and citations
Local directories, chambers, suppliers, and the trade press that already writes about your category. No purchased link networks — they work until they get your site penalised.
Measurement you can check
Search Console and analytics configured properly, with reporting tied to calls and form fills rather than a ranking screenshot. If we cannot show the work produced something, we will say so.
Who this is for
Local service businesses
Contractors, law firms, medical and dental practices, accountants, salons — anyone whose customers search by problem plus town. Local SEO is usually the highest-return work available to you.
Businesses with a site that never ranked
The site was built to look right, not to be found. Often the fastest wins are technical and structural rather than a content programme.
E-commerce with thin category pages
Product pages compete with the manufacturer and every other reseller. Category and buying-guide pages are usually where the winnable traffic is.
Anyone invisible to AI assistants
If a buyer asks ChatGPT for the best option in your category and you never come up, that is a content and structured-data gap — and it is fixable.
How we work
Audit first, always. We will not quote a monthly figure before we know what is wrong.
Audit and baseline
We crawl the site, review Search Console, check the Google Business Profile, and look at who is actually outranking you and why. You get the findings in plain English, ranked by what they are worth against what they cost — whether or not you hire us.
Fix the foundation
Indexation problems, speed, broken structured data, redirect chains, duplicate titles. This is unglamorous and it is usually where the first movement comes from.
Build the pages that can rank
One page per service and per location that genuinely deserves to rank: what is included, what it costs, who it is for, and proof where it exists.
Earn the signals
Citations, profile completeness, reviews, and links from places that already write about your industry.
Measure and adjust
Monthly review against calls and enquiries. Work that is not producing gets stopped rather than quietly repeated.
What it costs
SEO is scoped, not subscribed. Most of our clients start with a one-time audit and fix, then decide whether ongoing content work is worth it based on what the first phase produced.
- Audit and technical fix: quoted per site after a free review of what is actually wrong
- Service and location pages: priced per page, so you know exactly what you are buying
- Ongoing content and link work: monthly, cancel any time, no twelve-month lock-in
- Sites we build include the technical foundation and structured data from day one, at no extra cost
- If your problem is the Google Business Profile and nothing else, we will tell you that and charge you for an hour
SEO questions we get asked
- How long does SEO take to work for a small business?
- Technical fixes can show movement in two to four weeks, because you are removing something that was actively holding the site back. New pages competing for commercial terms typically take three to six months to settle. Local pack improvements from a properly completed Google Business Profile are often the fastest visible win. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is either targeting terms nobody searches or is about to buy links.
- Can you guarantee a number one ranking on Google?
- No, and neither can anyone else — Google does not sell placement in organic results and its ranking systems change constantly. What can be guaranteed is the work: a site that is technically sound, pages that answer the buyer's question better than the competing pages, and local signals that are complete and consistent. That is what actually produces rankings. Treat a guaranteed-number-one promise as a reason to walk away.
- What is the most important SEO factor for a local business?
- For most local service businesses it is the Google Business Profile — correct category, complete information, real photos, accurate hours, and a steady flow of genuine reviews. It drives the map pack, which is where the majority of local commercial clicks go. After that: a fast mobile site, one page per service, and consistent name, address and phone details everywhere your business is listed.
- Do I need to blog every week to rank?
- No. Publishing weekly filler is a common waste of money. Most small businesses get further with a small number of genuinely useful pages — one per service, one per location you serve, and a handful that answer the questions buyers ask before they call — than with fifty short posts nobody reads. Write when you have something worth saying to a buyer.
- How does AI search like ChatGPT and Perplexity change SEO?
- Answer engines quote pages that state the answer plainly and early, and they lean heavily on structured data to work out what a business actually is. Practically that means: mark up your organisation, services and FAQs properly; lead each page with the answer rather than building to it; and make sure the facts about your business are consistent everywhere, because a model that finds three different addresses for you will trust none of them.
- Will you work on a site you did not build?
- Yes, most of our SEO work is on sites built by someone else. If the platform is fighting you — a page builder that emits unusable markup, or hosting that cannot be made fast — we will say so and give you the honest cost comparison between fixing and rebuilding, rather than quietly billing for work the platform will undo.
- Do you do SEO outside New Jersey and New York?
- Yes. Local SEO work is naturally tied to where your customers are, and ours are mostly in NJ and NYC, but technical SEO, content and structured data are location-independent. We work with clients remotely across the US.
